MSM finally admits Western diets lack nutrition and cause disease… a decade after independent media sounded the alarm

(NaturalNews) The mainstream media and their high-paying pharmaceutical sponsors make it seem like disease is random, striking people without warning. In this way of thinking, people start to feel like helpless victims. They can quickly become scared and lose touch with their bodies and minds. They start lining up for routine medical checks and injections. Sometimes, fear-stricken patients end up submitting to barbaric medical practices like a mastectomy or hysterectomy. Yes, doctors now encourage women to anticipate cancer by cutting off and gutting out their healthy body parts!

Amidst all the fear, disinformation and unnecessary cutting, independent media and health education sites like NaturalNews and the Weston A. Price Foundation stand out, reminding the world that the disease process starts within the body and is connected to the under-utilization of important nutrients. It’s a nutrient-depleted, acidic internal environment that allows disease to take hold. Processed foods are known to deplete the beneficial microbes in the gut, hurting the body’s ability to defend itself against infection. Understanding these principles puts people back in charge of their own health instead of inciting a fear of the world around them.

The mainstream media is now finally confessing that the nutrient-void western diet is at at the helm of diseased bodies. These diets, which consist mainly of refined sugars, saturated fats, and processed foods, ultimately destroy the gut microbes that regulate the immune system.

Mainstream media confesses that Western diets put people in a state of disease

The truth can no longer be ignored. CNN is now coming out and admitting that Western diets are a main cause of disease. Ian Myles from the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases describes a Western diet as “overconsumption of over-refined sugars, highly refined and saturated fats, animal protein and a reduced intake of plant-based fibers.”

As urbanization takes hold of the population, there is less physical activity and a greater acceptance of the sweet and greasy Western diet. David Tilman, a professor of Ecology at the University of Minnesota, says, “People around the world, as incomes go up, choose more calories and meat in their diet.” He says that there is a “nutrition transition occurring around the world.” These high-calorie diets provide a false feeling of good sense while silently stifling the quality of people’s lives.

“We have a whole new group of people who are malnourished because they eat foods that are no good for them, that have no nutritional benefit,” says Tilman.

A western diet increases the risk of infection

Most of the time, the mainstream media blames disease on under-vaccinated populations, even though the first measles death in the past ten years occurred in a vaccinated individual.

As the truth becomes hard to bear, the mainstream media is starting to cough it up, finally revealing how the Western diet puts the body in a state of disease. Infectious disease expert Ian Myles says that highly processed and refined foods of the Western diet put the body in a perpetual state of disease. “It throws your immune system off kilter,” he says.

Jeremy Nicholson, the head of the department of surgery and cancer at Imperial College London, says that beneficial gut microbes play an important role in regulating the immune system. These protective bacteria species can be pushed out of the body by processed foods. When the good microbes are wiped out, the bad ones take over, making a person more prone to infection.

Processed food ingredients like fructose and palmitic acid also confuse the body. The body might even recognize these ingredients as a bacterial infection. Bewildered, the body launches an immune system attack against the food ingredients, ultimately causing inflammation. This confusion and inflammation within the body weakens the immune system against the actual pathogens that a person might have to face in the future.

“It throws off the way your body responds… and by the time you recognize it, it will have gotten worse,” says Myles.

On top of all that, this inflammation can damage surrounding cells, causing cells to replicate faster. This increases the chances of mutation in the genes, heightening the risk for cancer in the body. Men who eat a Western diet are two and half times more likely to die from prostate cancer. Studies also show that changes in gut bacteria caused by processed foods put people at risk of colon cancer.
